Zakhilwal requests Samiul Haq to play role in Afghan peace

NOWSHERA: Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Hazrat Umar Zakhilwal on Tuesday met Patron of Akora Khattak Madrassa and chief of Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) Maulana Samiul Haq and requested him to play role for bringing peace in Afghanistan.

According to a statement issued from Darul Uloom Haqqania, Umar Zakhilwal said Maulana Samiul Haq enjoys respect among the Afghan Taliban and the country’s rulers and he is capable of forging unity and bringing all parties to peaceful settlement. The Maulana assured Mr Zakhilwal that he will play his role for bringing peace in Afghanistan.

The statement added that Maulana Samiul Haq emphasised that it was imperative that foreign troops leave Afghanistan in order to pave way for meaningful dialogue and durable peace in in the country. He also called upon the Pakistan government to review its policy towards Afghanistan as India and other enemy states are benefiting from tension between the two countries.
