PESHAWAR— The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Saturday turned more than 231 schools into quarantine centers in the province after rapidly increase in the cases of spreading corona virus in the province.
According to reports, different schools of 35 districts are turned into islolation centers. Out of these schools, 133 are girls and 98 are boys schools.
As per details, at least 28 schools have been reserved for isolation facilities in Charsaddah while 25 girls schools has also been made quarantine centers in Swabi where a first case has been reported days earlier.
Lower Dir saw 31 boys schools being turned and Mohmand agency administration announced 15 girls schools as quarantine centers.
The confirmed corona cases tally in KP stood at 180 while the nationwide patients risen to 1373 so far. The Union Council of Manga in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the worst affected area by the COVID-19 in the province. 79 people in the UC have been tested positive for COVID-19.
So far cases from Peshawar, Nowhshera, Mardan, Swabi, Buner, Malakand, Chitral, Lower Dir, Hangu and Dera Ismail Khan has been reported.
