PESHAWAR— A journalist associated with a local newspaper in Souther Dera Ismael Khan city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was shot dead by unknown persons near to his village on Tuesday morning. The assailants succeeded in escape.
Yaseen Qureshi President of Dera Ismael Khan Press Club said that deceased Aman Ullah was associated with local urdu newspaper Meezan-i-Adal. He added that he was shot dead by motorcyclists.
Ismael Khan Deputy Superintendent Prova Tehsil told ‘Peshawar Today’ that Aman Ullah was on way from village to Dera Ismael Khan when targeted by masked motorcyclists. He added that efforts underway for the arrest of culprits.
Journalists rights activist Iqbal Khattak has termed killing of Aman Ullah government, especially law enforcing agencies failure. He said that if culprits involved in violence against media personnel brought before court of law then no one could visualize killing of Aman Ullah and others.
Aman Ullah become third journalist shot dead in Dera Ismael Khan during last two years. Whereas obver 100 media men, almost from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa fill victims of terror and violence in last one and half a decade.
