KHYBER—-The Forest Department of district Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday distributed modern beekeeping facilities among poor families of the Bara tehsil of the district.
More than 35 families of the Kajuri area of Bara tehsil received beehives and beekeeping equipment provided by the Non-Timber Forest Product(NTFP)section of Forest department to support poor families of the Kajuri area of Bara and boost bee populations in the area as well.
In this connection a gathering was organized that was attended by director NTFP Ahmad Mansoor as chief guest beside officials of NTFP, political workers and tribal elders.
Speaking on the occasion Ahmad Mansoor said that they were striving hard to enhance apiculture among the tribesmen and for the purpose, free services were providing to them.
“NTFP assists effectees of the militancy hit areas in form of giving them apiculture facility so that they can get profitable business in their own villages and localities”, he remarked.
He maintained that minor level at beginning stage, trade would grow much more with passage of time, as breeding of honeybees would increase and would cause earning more profit.
